Welcome to the Sylvania Area Community Improvement Corporation (SACIC)

The SACIC is a coalition of area business and community leaders who support Sylvania schools by encouraging economic and business development. The organization feels that strong schools encourage a strong community spirit and a better quality of life.

Our Mission

• Assist new and existing businesses to locate and grow in Sylvania
• Provide business expansion and relocation support that includes

  • Zoning and Planning
  • Utility Services and Extensions
  • Tax incentives
  • Building and Expansion Guidance to include adaptive reuse and redevelopment

• Provides guidance to local government and community organizations to address quality of life issues
• Serve as a facilitator for mutual city and township endeavors
• Keep members current on activities and developments in the community SACIC support has led to infrastructure projects, economic development programs and community enhancement studies.

The goal for the next five years is to develop more business assistance and development programs. Further plans call for the organization to enhance its role as a facilitator between the city, township, school system and community organizations.

The development goals are

• Provide assistance to new and expanding businesses
• Increase the tax base for the school system benefitting the City of Sylvania and Sylvania Township
• Expand employment and investment opportunities in the Sylvania School district.

The SACIC has been a force in the community for 38 years with a history of economic development programs, community enhancement projects/studies and business assistance support. The SACIC provides multiple services with the focus on enhancing the vibrancy of the Sylvania area community.
